One of those weeks....

It's been one of those weeks.

You know the ones I'm talking about...

I was going to get LOTS of things done.
I had no appointments.
My calendar was wide open.
I had all the supplies I needed to get 2 samples made, and all my preliminary illustrations on paper.
I was going to make some serious progress this week...

But it just wasn't in the cards...

There were several unexpected visitors...

and more than a few phone calls from family...
friends...
customers...
vendors...
and neighbors...

Some calls took very little of my time,
others were long-winded marathons, but all seemed to effectively break my rhythm,
and that can be so annoying.

Before I knew it, the week was half gone and I had very little to show for it.

I tried to regain my focus and forward momentum,
but it seemed no matter what I did,
the obligations & distractions just kept piling on.

Before I knew it, I felt completed covered up, my work week was spent, and I had very few results to show for it.

Oh well...you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

In just a few hours we can put this week to rest and start anew, with a fresh plan (and maybe with the phone off the hook!)

  1. And I thought it was just my week that went by without any real progress ... SIGH!!! It seems that January is going by in a FLASH! Maybe it means that we should just go with the flow ...

    Love those cute kitty pics.

The sun is shining in NM hope it is there, too.
    Have a good one!

  2. That's how things go around here, including the laundry.

  3. This week will go better... Somehow an open space always gets filled up, so take charge of your thoughts and make them good ones!

  4. I love it when cats helps with the housework!

I had similar lack of getting all done that I wanted but when there is ACC basketball which includes the My Team (Deacons) vs His Team (carowhina) I get distracted ;)

  6. Kathy,

First..congratulations on the new little angel!!! He is darling all wrapped up with his Grandma.

In reading about your previous week, I think we all need to take a break from the phone. Now that we have cell phones we feel compelled to always answer and it eats up our day and interrupts. Let's all take back our lives and set aside a small bit of time a day for the phone. Not that we don't love our friends and relatives. Talking on the phone has become an international obsession.

Of course, now that you have your new little one life will be very busy for awhile. That interruption is soooo allowed!!!!

    Happy new grandson,

    Kathie
