A while back, I repainted Lil C's room in preparation for a project. One of Erica's very dear friends wanted to paint some jungle type scenery on the walls. I thought, how cute... can't wait to see it.
WELL............
I never, ever thought it would look like THIS!!!

Is this not the most fabulous baby's room you've ever seen? And Erica told me that her friend, a fellow teacher at her school, basically did it freehand. I am totally in awe of talent like this!
Here's the walls on the other side of the room. Fantastic, isn't it!

In this closeup you can see a sweet little frog perched on one of the leaves.

He must be a friend of this little guy sitting on one of the vines in the tree.

The only thing cuter is this little chameleon. He's adorable!
But the cutest one of all is this remarkable snake! He kinda reminds me of the snake that was in the animated Robin Hood movie. I think his name was 'Hiss'.
Ever since I saw this room, I'm been trying to imagine how much that little boy will love it. Heck, even at MY age, I would love to have a room like this!

So I'm working on the layette to go with this beautiful room now. (You might recall that it was actually the fabric for this room that inspired all of this wonderful art to begin with, way back in November.)
I'm trying my best to get it all done so I can take it with me next week when I go to Raleigh for a quick visit. Stay tuned for the pictures!
Jeter & I think it will look complement the walls in a GREAT way!
For a first grandchild (and any that come after) you have complete licence to share this awesome news anytime you desire!! After all, you get to add the "grand" to mother. That's as good (or better) as getting a degree without the extra schooling. And yes, the nursery looks beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome artwork! It will be so great with your layette fabric.
ReplyDeleteWow! Canaan's room looks super fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteNext week be sure to blow the horn when you drive by the Chapel Hill/Pittsboro exit on your way to Raleigh!
