Purse Pattern Chronicles- Where I Left Off

Remember this fabric? I pulled it out and started working with in November when I first began work on this new design, but then I got sidetracked and had to set everything aside for a while... until today that is!

I loved this fabric from the moment i saw it. That's why I didn't want to use it on this bag until I was pretty sure I was happy with the design components. And indeed, I am pretty happy with the components now.

The top areas have been adjusted a little and I think this silhouette is more pleasing now. It seem more ruffly, but not too much.

Here's a closeup of the double ruffle area. The inner ruffle height is lower and the bottom ruffle is just a little deeper than in my last post. Amazing how a small change like this can make such a difference.

And now for the name... are you ready? I've decided to call this bag the "Carolina CarryAll". I haven't used the term carryall yet, and most of you know that North Carolina is where I call home. I like the two words together, and I hope you do too.

So there you have it. I know I promised a sneek peek this time at the Secret Pocket area, but it pouring rain out, and It's just not photographing well with a flash. Maybe next time?

  6. Love that bag! Can't wait to embellish it with embroidery. It will look fabulous in batiks. It will look fabulous in Fassett fabrics too. Lots of possibilities! Tick tick tick....
