Winter Shower for a Spring Baby

Does this funny guy look like a baby shower corsage? Since you've all seen pictures of my grandson's nursery, you might not be surprised to see that this corsage, composed of useful baby items, was inspired by that colorful nursery. I thought it was adorable, and most important, Erica loved it!

Erica and Steve were in town this weekend for a big baby shower in their honor. It was a mid-morning brunch type shower, and here they are in front of the refreshment table, which was also directly inspired by the "rain forest-themed" nursery ! Isn't it fabulous?

It was a wonderful spread wasn't it? And the food was out of this world!

As you can see, leftover fabric from the nursery was used to dress the table& color-coordinated jelly beans added pizzazz!

Erica's most excellent mother-in-law prepared the yummiest chocolate fondue sauce I've ever had. Of course it was delicious on the fruit, but I also discovered it did wonders for the strawberry casserole, the lemon cookies, AND the coffee! Chocolate makes everything better doesn't it! I even heard reports that it was super on the jellybeans, though I didn't try that myself.

Erica and Steve got so many wonderful presents, and they had plenty of time to catch up with folks who have been important to them and our families thru the years. And can you believe that it was actually in the upper 50's? Pretty incredible considering that this was the first Saturday out of the last 4 that we didn't wake up to SNOW!

So as you can see, it won't be long now until our new little man is here, and we are ready to meet him!
