Some of my Favorites

Janine, Amy & Jeannette of Blue Underground Studios
Everytime we go to Market, we meet new and interesting people. That of course means that our list of people to 'catch up' with is growing larger & larger, but that's a GOOD thing!

Our neighbors this year were a lot of fun and we really enjoyed getting to know them. I'll highlight some of these vendors in more detail in upcoming newsletters, but I thought you might like to see some of these booths.
Mary Jane Carey of Holly Hill Quilts
Across the aisle from us were the gals from Blue Underground Studios, specializing in contemporary quilt designs. (And isn't their name the coolest?

Holly Hill Quilts was immediately across from us. Mary Jane has some very nice seasonal quilt designs in small sizes, suitable for wall hangings. Bubba was raiding her candy dish CONSTANTLY.

Janet & Renae of RGA Design Quilts

If your looking for teaching aids for your quilting class, look no further than RGA Quilt Design.
Jamie Kalvestran of Scrap Bags

Jamie Kalvestran was one of the first people I met at Market way back in the fall of 2007. Here she is in her Scrap Bags booth. I greatly admire her work and she has always been such an encouragement to me. (Her bags and quilts are pretty gorgeous too, by the way!)
Terrie Mangat & her wonderful fabrics

But MY favorite thing to shop for at Market is the FABRIC, and let me tell you, I came home totally inspired by what I saw, and there was none more captivating than the new fabric debuted at this Market by Terrie Mangat. Terrie is actually a well known artist and educator and she has captured her love of color and nature in this fabric line (released by Free Spirit). I totally fell in love with it, so much so, that Terrie & I are going to try to collaborate on my next handbag pattern. Terrie gave me some samples to work with and I am just about salivating to get back in the studio and work them into my new design. It's going to be fabulous! More on this later!
Anna Maria Horner

Here's some of the other booths I enjoyed looking at!
Sue Spargo's Folk Art Quilts

These quilts are so gorgeous. They look so intricate. Don't you think these would make a terrific inspiration for a fabric line?
Patchwork for Busy Fingers

And our friends Sue & Jim Daley from Australia with a couple of very nifty new patterns. And seriously, it's a good thing they place Jim on the other side of the Market from Bubba, because the two of them are destined for trouble when they are together.

Of course the most inspiring thing of all at Market is the display quilts and clothing, which I'll share with you in my next post. Till then..........
