A Venue with a View

You've probably noticed that we're WAY off schedule on our blog. There wasn't a Sunday 'Question of the Week'... and there haven't been any no updates on our home-based business. Normally, I get a lot more done in my off-hours at Quilt Market, but for some reason I was wiped out at the end of each day in Minneapolis, and I'm still trying to catch up. We'll finish our series on the Quilt Market now, and hopefully we'll be back on schedule with a 'Question of the Week' on Sunday.
That's me with 'Rod Carew' outside Target Field

Just in case you didn't know, we're BigTime baseball fans, and once we found out that this Spring's Quilt Market was going to be in Minneapolis MN, we were so excited to think that we might get to visit the Twins' new stadium, Target Field, in it's inaugural season. But it seemed that the games were sold-out almost from the moment the schedule was announced, and I was crushed. There we were, staying in the Marriott, practically in the shadow of the stadium, and it seemed all we would see is the bright lights in the outfield.    RATS!
The game was a sell-out, evidently as all of them are!

But the hubster loves a challenge, so he headed up to the stadium on Friday afternoon, (while I was still manning the booth at Market), to see if he couldn't find someone willing to sell a couple of tickets at a fairly reasonable price. I was skeptical. But I got a breathless call about 5:30... seems he had two good tickets and would meet me at the room with a pizza at 6:30, then we'd walk over to the stadium for the 7:10 start, and it's a good thing we got there on time, because the Twins busted out with 7 runs in the first inning. (It eventually was a 13-0 rout)
Target Field is beautiful, and the view's not bad either!

So here's the verdict...the stadium is absolutely spectacular. A visit to Minneapolis simply MUST include this venue because...
  • the atmosphere is simply electric
  • there's not a bad seat in the house
  • the food is terrific
  • the view of the Minneapolis skyline is breath-taking
And the only thing that would have made the evening any more exciting was if the opponent had been the Yankees....
(and we only missed them by 2 days).... RATS again!
