FREE
It's a powerful word.
Everybody loves to get something for FREE, don't they? And I'm no exception.
But let's face it, not all the free stuff you run across on the web is good.
One of the best things we ever did was to put a few free patterns on our website. Posting free stuff that has value to customers is a really great way to attract visitors and in our case, its a terrific way to give potential customers a taste of your product line. As a matter of fact, 4 years after uploading the 'The AeroPac" our first free pattern, it remains one of the most 'clicked on' items on our website.
But let's face it, there's a whole lot of free stuff being offered out there on the web that really isn't worth the paper you print it on. That's why I thought it might be fun to use this space to share some of our favorite FREE STUFF! I'll go first.
Did I tell you that I recently released an E-Book? Oh I'm sure I have, but anyway, per my usual style, I wanted to first do a little digging around to see what kind of resource material I could find. (Why reinvent the wheel if it's not necessary, right?) And not surprisingly, I found a LOT of free stuff claiming to have all the info I would ever need to write a terrific E-Book, but the only thing was...most of it was crap! Almost all of it in fact, except this...
Epic E-Book Creation by Jonathan Wondrusch. If you're thinking of writing an E-Book, this is a MUST-HAVE resource.
It is totally AWESOME!
And so is Jonathan for giving it away for FREE!
So it you're writing an E-Book, or if you're even toying with the idea. Click here, to get this free material.
But there's got to be other terrific FREE stuff out there. So how about you? Have you run across some free stuff that rocks? How about sharing it with the rest of us in the comments section below? (Don't forget to include the website address.)
I'm thinking this could really be a lot of fun for us. We'll all get a chance to check out some cool FREE stuff we might not have found otherwise, AND, it would also give some much deserved attention to the website owner who was thoughtful enough to have shared it in the first place.
Do you know someone else who might like to know about these free things? Please feel free to pass this post on to others and to share your own thoughts in the comments section!

I just launched my new blog (www.jesusDIVA.com) using tips and techniques from www.tentblogger.com. Awesome resource about blogging in general and using Wordpress in particular. I'm still going through everything and slowly trying to implement it.
ReplyDeleteHey-thanks for the great link to this blog. It sure looks like it has a TREASURE TROVE of info there! Great tip!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for all the FREE stuff... and for having the best newsletter out there!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
Rosie =)
Hi Kathy;
ReplyDeleteDid you know that we have a free bag pattern page located at
http://pursepatterns.com/free_bag_patterns.html ?
Have a wonderful day!
Henrietta
There really is a HOST of free stuff out there isn't there! And this is a good place to share it!
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of freebies out there but my fav (besides of course patterns & Sewing) is Giveaway of the day. You sign up then every day they will send what the giveaway of the day is. Could be backup software, Virus software, Web Builder, Video Movie Maker, all kinds of freebies. Sometimes just plain ol' screen savers (usually weekends are screen savers). But way too much to mention. Anyway they email you letting you know what the freebie of the day is and if you want it click the link to their site, and follow directions at site. The only thing is you have to get it the day it is offered. I have got so many great programs and have learned so much I just had to share!
ReplyDeleteThis is the addy:

One of my favorites is the weekly free samples from Dover Publications

They post downloadable clip art, coloring pages (for grown-ups, too!), graphics--all kinds of stuff that is great for design and color ideas for any type of artist (that includes sewists & quilters!)
allfreesewing.com, burdastyle.com, aboutsewing.com
ReplyDeleteWe have dozens of free projects at 3 Creative Studios, http://3creativestudios.com/free.htm
ReplyDeleteThere's a little of everything from quilt patterns, gift ideas, techniques.....you name it!
Ladies I am looking for the pattern that makes the preschool/kindergarten "blanket, sleeping mat that folds up into a pillow." If any one has it or knows where to find it, I would LOVE for you to send it to me!
