PPC5-Purse Pattern Chronicles FIVE with a Giveaway

(This post is part of a continuing series focusing on the development of a new handbag pattern from its initial conception to it's release.)

Purse Pattern Chronicles- 5th edition

Back to Basics
I can hardly believe that we're ready to start the FIFTH edition of the Purse Pattern Chronicles. Those of you who have followed our Blog for some time know what our "Purse Pattern Chronicles" series is all about, and it’s that time again folks! We’ve been working our butts off on this new design, which is actually a 'twisted improvement' on one of our older designs and now we’re far enough along in the process to begin the gradual unveil.

But first, let me tell you about the inspiration for this twist!

As usual, before doing a whole lot of thinking about the next design we take on, I like to to first take a long hard look at our collection with the following questions in mind;
  • is there anything that seems to be missing from the collection? Is our collection balanced, or do we need to add another bag of a particular size to even things out?
  • what trends do we notice on the rise or on the wane in current accessory fashion? Do bags seems to be getting bigger or smaller, etc.?
  • What have been the "hot" accessory trends on the runways this season? Are we seeing a lot of hardware?...a lot of zippers?
So... I was in the process of considering all these things while I was babysitting my grandson a few weeks ago and we were in the process of enjoying a good ol' Lego session when it hit me!

EUREKA! and just like that, I knew what our next design should be!

and this is the picture I took to document the moment.

SO.... Stay tuned for our next post in this series when we'll reveal our original sketches AND which one of our earlier designs we're "twisting" to a whole new level, but in the meantime...

Is there anyone out there who would care to make a guess as to which pattern we're revisiting and what the big 'twist' is?

And now, for the Giveaway opportunity!
I'll send a 12" X 29"piece of Soft & Stable, (which we're featuring once again in this new design), in your choice of white or black, to the person who in my estimation provides the most accurate guess! Please leave your entry in the comments box below by 10pm (EST) Tuesday evening, Jan 10th in order to be considered for the giveaway.
Won't this be FUN?
(in the unlikely event of a virtual tie, (no pun intended), the winner will be chosen by a flip of a coin.)

*** For those of you who routinely receive our posts by way of email, you must leave your comments here in the comments section of this Blog in order to be considered for the prize. If you send your responses to me via email I'll enjoy reading them, but they will not be considered as a legitimate entry for this give-away.***

Do you know someone who would enjoy this series?

Please feel free to pass it on to others in any way you see fit!

  1. It looks like it might be a revamp of the GadAbout. I like to hear about inspiration that comes from ordinary objects viewed through a different lens. Looking forward to seeing the reveal! Tamsyn

  2. To me, it looks like a Tandem Tote with something "on the side" (and maybe on the bottom, too).

  3. I think it might be the "Sidekick" with a pocket on the side (for phones, ipods, etc.)

  4. Boy, you have me stumped! I've tried squinting my eyes, turning my head...Nothing! I'm anxious to find out what you saw in the Legos.

  5. Is it something to do with components put together?

  6. I'm so tickled that a few of you have been brave enough to give this a try. I just can't wait to show you my original sketches, which I will do next week- so stay tuned! :)

  7. I'm guessing it's the Abracaniche (sp?) purse. Dont know why...it's just always been an interesting purse to me. :)

  8. I'll guess a shoulder bag style with adjustable strap and an interior like the Encore. Zipper top, no flap and a slightly narrower width to fit closer to the body. Perhaps a slightly curved top, also.

  9. I think it is the bag I have been looking for. Not too big, but totally needed in today's society. It will have a safe place for money and credit cards, a place for my tablet, and place for my new smart phone and best of all will look terrific. With fingers crossed, bet I am right!!!!

  10. My guess is the Odyssey or the Sidekick with optional sections/choices that possibly zip together in different configurations. My oldest son (36 now) was the biggest Lego fan ever! Imagine his surprise when I recently gave him his huge Lego collection from his childhood ~ he was overwhelmed and quite emotional. It was so much listening to him talk about the things he remembers making. I'm really glad I kept them all these years! But I'm even happier to now have the space for MY stuff!

  11. I think that this purse design will be a revamp of the organizer insert. It will not only be an organizer but it will be a purse with zipper pockets for everything you want to carry in your purse. Legos are a great inspiration.

  12. Just a quick note to remind everyone-
Anonymous entries may be fun for us all to read, but cannot be considered for the prize. (Don;t forget to leave a name or a mantra.)

  15. I love the Baggalista. However, when I look at your Logos, I see the Sidekick with an additional pocket on the end and an additional zip around bottom pocket.

  16. I see three pockets on three levels just like the legos. Just have to wait and see.

  17. I am thinking the Sidekick done in colorblock!
